Our client was undergoing a rapid digital transformation focused on analytics and was seeking to democratize data assets to support decisions across the organization. Legacy reporting processes, however, lacked true Data Governance, causing confusion and mistrust of data company-wide. Our client needed a solution to balance accessibility and governance to truly unlock the value of their analytics initiative.

Solution Overview

Messina Group worked with our client to specify a Data Governance Program specific to their organization, including defining the overall team structure, RACI, and all related technology and process enablers. This Data Governance structure promoted proper ownership and partnership across each functional area of the business, ensuring there was a shared understanding of metric definitions, context, source data lineage, and responsibility for stewardship and changes. This framework promoted quicker adoption of the front-end analytics, more efficient usage of the data to make decisions, and better feedback on value-add initiatives to include in the program.
